TREND Second Generation - Variable Speed Drives (VSD's) VSD2H At least half of the electricity consumed by today's modern commercial buildings is used to circulate air & water. Too often these systems are over sized & are run at full power, irrespective of load or demand, resulting in energy being wasted. For efficiency & environmental reasons, HVAC systems are increasingly incorporating variable speed drives that can precisely control the speed of the fans or pumps. This makes the system operate more efficiently, significantly reducing energy use & costs. Trend variable speed drives (VSD's), which operate either stand-alone or as part of a complete Building Energy Management System (BEMS), are designed specifically for HVAC applications to deliver "Measurable Energy Savings" that building owners & facility managers demand. GBC can provide VSD2H Variable Speed Drives (VSD's) from 1.1kw - 160kw in either IP21 or IP54 enclosures. (Payback Typically Less Than 2 Years) ![]()

Under the
Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECA) scheme, you can claim an
enhanced 100% capital allowance on qualifying investments in
equipment in the first tax year. Normal capital allowances on plant
and machinery are 25% a year on a reducing balance basis. So the
scheme boosts cash flow and shortens the payback period. With this
scheme the cost of the product and any direct costs relating to the
installation, including transportation can be used to reduce the
amount of corporation tax that your company pays. In basic terms, if
your company pays 20% corporation tax, then for every £100 spent on
an approved product, £20 can be claimed back from the government to
offset against the initial outlay.
