Summary of Project:
halo leisure
Herefordshire
halo was established as a Leisure Trust in April 2002 to manage 9
leisure facilities on behalf of the Herefordshire Council.
Global Building Controls were invited to offer advice on how the
trust could monitor and control the 9 sites, without having to rely
on modems, telephone lines and their associated costs.
Global Building Controls recommended that the sites be linked using
EINC's, as the sites were all linked on a Wide Area wide Network
WAN across the county back to the head office.
The Installation of the EINC's, was carried out during the summer of
2005 and new CAT5 cables were installed by GBC from each EINC back
to the network hub at each site.
Once the installation was complete, a new Trend 963 was installed at
the head office and each site was commissioned and set up to
communicate over TC/IP across the company IT Intranet.
The project is still ongoing as Global Building Controls continues
to offer remote client support and on site maintenance, whilst
upgrading and improving the software to provide enhanced energy
efficiency at each of the sites.
Summary of Project:
halo leisure
Herefordshire
As we provide an
ongoing support package to the halo leisure group, we have recently
secured an order to supply 23No energy saving inverter drives,
ranging from 2.2kw to 11kw in size, which will be fitted to a number
of pumps and fans across their portfolio of sites.
halo leisure have realised the need to cut their energy bills due to
increasing energy costs and have secured a local government grant
for the funding.
As some of the
fans & pumps are programmed to run 24hrs a day to serve the swimming
pool areas, the payback period will be as little as 7 months.
As part of the
overall project, GBC will be re-writing the existing control
software to facilitate the best energy savings possible.
