Support The advantages of this service are that GBC can offer a remote maintenance & support package including remote diagnostics of the front end, as well as the attached BMS controllers, remote schematic creation or modification, remote backup & restore of both the front end and the controller files etc. In addition, if a customer is new to BMS & needs support in carrying out a particular task, GBC can take remote control over the Target PC to show you how to achieve what you were trying to do.
This service uses the latest IT technology with SSL, or Secure
Sockets Layer, which is a protocol used to encrypt
data transmitted over the Internet. The remote access software also
uses 128 to 256 bit encryption to protect all passwords and data and
includes such active defence features as IP filtering and lockout.
The remote access software used by GBC requires us to enter
separate passwords to access both the secure access account for each
customer and the Target PC's usual Windows login details. In
addition we would also need to be set up as a user on the BMS
software package and we would need to login with the correct user
name and password, so as you can see there are three layers of
security to get through before access is granted. Once set up, not only can our experienced team of controls engineers access the system to diagnose any faults, but any of the customers own trained staff can also use the service via a secondary remote access login account. This service is subject to the Target PC being able to be connected to the internet at the clients site.
